The Buzz in Business: The Commix Club

On the 23 day of August, Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar, Phase-1 held its inter school commerce fest, EComBat-2019. The fest completed a decade of providing an innovative and competitive platform to students of commerce stream. The event is organized by the commerce club of the school, Commix Club.  To grace the occasion, the school invited Ms. Anjilee Istwal, a leading journalist from NDTV India as the Guest of Honor.  The opening ceremony was marked with lamp lighting by the Principal, Vice Principal, the Guest of Honour and the President and Vice President of the Commix Club. The ceremony was followed by sapling presentation to the judges by the members of Commix Club. The Principal, Dr. Deepak R.S. Bisht spoke a few words of encouragement to the students, followed by a speech on the aims of the club by Kanishka Tyagi, the President of Commix Club. The event started off by an opening declaration by the Guest of Honor, Ms. Anjilee Istwal. The fest comprised of 6 events, first one being the Biz-Quiz, a written as well as verbal quiz related to businessworld and economy of the country. The activity, Share Bazaar was based on a virtual stock market. The participants were given the names and news of certain companies and on the basis of their interpretation, they had to invest in the given companies in the form of virtual money and the team with the highest amount of money at the end were the winners. The activity Business News, was business news presentation wherein the participants were required to present international, national and one national stock exchange along with an interview round with a personality from the business world. In the Biz Street Play, the participants were given an umbrella topic “waste disposal in india” and were further allotted sub topics like e-waste management, construction waste, industrial waste, domestic waste and bio medical waste. The activity, Comic Strip covered the principles of management in innovative caricatures. Last but not the least, was a Surprise Event and the surprise was a crossword based on commerce followed by a treasure hunt in which the participants had to solve a question of accountancy and then find out the missing values by treasure hunt. The rolling trophy was won by Delhi Public School, Noida. It was a fun filled event with 20+ schools and 300+ participants marking the success of the same and making it one of the best commerce fest of Delhi-NCR.
