events : MIDDLE-WING EXCURSION TO KOTI RESORT, CHAIL (HIMACHAL PRADESH)

Educational trips facilitate ample learning opportunities for the evolving young minds especially in shaping their beliefs, fostering this motto Ahlcon Public School, New Delhi organised an excursion trip for the students of the middle wing (grade 6 to 8) from 17 May 2023 – 21 May 2023 during the summer vacation to Camp The Koti Village Resort, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh located at a distance of 346 km from Delhi.

Day 1 : 17 May 2023
At 9:30 am students assembled at school where they were given luggage tag and I Card for travelling. This was followed by Bus departure at 10:30 pm for the camp Chail. Students were served with juice, chips and biscuits during travel.

Day 2 : 18 May 2023
The early morning rays woke everyone up to the picturesque views of green pastures, mountains and valleys. They cherished the beauty of pine, deodar, oak forests and swaying fields enroute. The students reached the Camp at 11 am where the groups were formed and room/tents were allotted. They were also briefed with camp rules. Breakfast was served in the dining area which was followed by program briefing and expectation setting. First the Team Flag/Poster Making activity was conducted immediately after the energising breakfast. This was followed by Teams lunch. After the lunch students were taught to compose SAMBHA MUSIC using jerry cans, glasses and plates etc. under the guidance of trainer. The adventure activities were followed by high tea and refreshments. Later the survival session, compass reading, fire making and bag packing sessions were conducted. This was followed by Camp Fire with live music. At 8:30 the dinner was served. By 9:30 pm campers went to sleep tight.

Day 3 : 19 May 2023
The day began with a wakeup call which included Zumba and stretching exercises making campers ready for yet another day full of fun, frolic and adventure. After relishing their breakfast children began with adventure activities like face painting and air crash investigation direction finding with natural resources using compass. Lunch at 1 pm was followed by short relaxing sleeping session. The highlight of the day was a self-cooking session which included fire making and cooking food on their own under the supervision of instructor and teachers. High Tea with refreshment was served to the kids. Campers were later engaged in fun activities like Roman Catapult, Guerrilla Warfare. The evening commenced musically with DJ and Bonfire. Scrumptious dinner was served to all the Ahlconians. At 9:30 pm the hectic day filled with adventure came to an end as it was sleeping time.

Day 4 : 20 May 2023
The day began with a wakeup call followed by Yoga session and freshening up. After the breakfast the campers checked out from the Koti Resort and headed for Climb up challenge that included outdoor Survival quiz, Camp debriefs and feedback session. The closing ceremony was the most rewarding one as the best team was awarded with a certificate and trophy to each team member. Climbers team was the team that stood 1st followed by Black Panthers who secured 2nd position. At 1 PM the campers departed to Shimla. Reaching there they went for shopping at Mall Road and paid visit to Church. At 6:30 pm the groups headed for further journey to Delhi by boarding the buses. During the journey they were served with chips, juices, water and cookies. Dinner was served in Mc Donald with happy meal to all Ahlcon diners.

Day 5 : 21 May 2023
At 5:30 am the enthusiastic troop enriched with experiences, memories and new learnings, reached school where the parents were waiting to embrace their bundles of joy. The four-day trip ended on a happy and contented note where each participant returned with memories to cherish forever.

The trip was efficiently organised by Climb Up group and their team did a fantastic job. The Ahlcon teaching staff that coordinated and escorted the students included MR. Rajesh Sehgal ,MS Neerja Gupta, Ms Sarita Chauhan, Ms Rashmi Gupta, MS Poornima Bisht, MS Preeti Mahajan, Ms Savita Srivastav MS. Chandra Prabha and Ms Jyoti Nautiyal.
