The National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year on 24th January in order to provide opportunities and support to girls in India.

The National Girl Child Day initiative was started by the ministry of women and child development in the year 2008.

The celebration ensures equal opportunities to the girl in the field of education, health, legal rights honour protection etc.

Many initiatives like (BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO)was launched by the government in order to create safe and healthy environment for girl.

The main objective of this day is to ensure that every girl child in the country gets all human rights.

As school we have already celebrated SDG anniversary and we inculcate SDG in our daily learning and hence we understand the importance of SDG goal no 5 which is gender equality and we want to make our children understand this goal.
