Drug Addiction is a serious threat to the well being of society as declared by WHO and needs intervention at all levels. Organizations like Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) are working at various levels to address this issue. For taking this mission forward and for implementing anti-drug programmes, following proactive steps are to be taken at various levels.

The main objective of the Prahari Clubs is to ensure that the selling of drugs and substances in surrounding areas of schools/educational institutions is prohibited and to sensitize students to be more vigilant about any activity of drugs and substance abuse in the schools/educational institutions. “Prahari Clubs” are the existing clubs in schools like- Eco clubs, Cultural Clubs, Red Ribbon Clubs and others. “Prahari Clubs” provides a platform for the students to come together, meet, discuss and plan activities for their own development as well as that of the society to curb the menace of drugs and substance abuse.
