Ahlcon Public School proudly hosted the fifth and largest-ever edition of the Ahlcon Youth Model United Nations (AYMUN) on 3rd August 2024. This significant event brought together 200 delegates from various schools of Delhi NCR, exemplifying the collaborative spirit and intellectual vigour of our nation's youth.

The day commenced with a solemn lamp-lighting ceremony, setting the stage for a day of intense intellectual engagement. We were privileged to have Ambassador Deepak Vohra as our Chief Guest. His dynamic and inspiring address highlighted the contemporary relevance of the United Nations and India’s pivotal role in global geopolitics, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees. In his address, the Principal, Dr. Deepak Raj Singh Bisht emphasized the event's role in empowering students through debates and enhancing their public speaking, negotiation, and diplomatic skills. He highlighted the importance of understanding international politics and nurturing future leaders to address the global challenges we face today, such as climate change, pandemics,geopolitical tensions and stressing the need for informed and empathetic leadership. He encouraged delegates to engage fully, listen to diverse perspectives, and strive for consensus, emphasizing that diplomacy is about finding common ground and fostering lasting solutions.

Following the opening ceremony, delegates convened in six diverse and dynamic committees: United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), All-India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM), Ministry of Magic (MOM), and International Press (IP). The day was marked by fervent deliberations and insightful discussions, as students tackled critical global issues with passion and acuity.

The event concluded with the Closing Ceremony, where awards were announced. DPS Indirapuram distinguished itself by winning both the prestigious Best School Delegation and Best School Participation awards, reflecting their outstanding performance and commitment. Ahlcon Public School also shone brightly, not only for its exceptional organization of the event but also for its insightful participation in the debates.

The event was a true testament to the hard work and commitment of students and staff, and hope to continue with this tradition of excellence in the years to come.
