Today’s assembly was conducted by Dhruv House to commemorate two meaningful occasions  - National Poets’ Day and Sadbhavna Diwas, which reminds us of the importance of communal harmony and unity.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

NATIONAL NEWS
1. Jharkhand students suspended a 26- day protest over JPSC-JSSC exam and gave the government a 2 month ultimatum to address their demands.
2. Under India's 2026 BRICS Presidency, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports started off the BRICS Youth Council Meeting and Youth Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
3. Delhi faces a major spike in H1N1 (swine flu) cases during the monsoon season, with infections rising nearly six-fold to over 1,400 reported cases compared to last year.

SPORTS NEWS
India gave Sri Lanka a taste of defeat, as it won the 1st Test at Galle by 165 runs, with Manav Suthar building a 10 wicket spell as India leads 1-0 in this 2 match series.
In the Badminton World Championship, P.V. Sindhu and Ayush Shetty entered the next round of 16 however Lakshay Sen was knocked out of the competition after he faced Garett Tan.

WEATHER REPORT
Today's highest temperature shall reach upto 35°C and drop to 28°C with 50% chances of precipitation and 66% humidity.

‎‎A poet takes a simple thought,
And gives it wings to fly,
Turns feelings into words and dreams,
‎And paints them in the sky.

‎A poet sees what others miss,
‎A story in the rain,
A little hope, a touch of joy,
A memory, a pain.

‎With every line, a heart speaks out,
With every verse, we see,
The feelings hidden deep inside,
‎The world we wish to be.

‎So let us honour poets today,
‎Whose words can heal and start,
For every poem that touches us
‎Is born within a heart.

‎Speech:
As we have gathered today to commemorate an important occasion that reminds us of unity and togetherness, let us take a moment to understand what sadbhawna really means.

sadbhavna Diwas is observed every year on the 20th of August, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The day is observed to promote national integration, communal harmony and goodwill among people.

India is known for its diversity. We have different religions, languages, cultures and traditions, yet we all share the same country and the same sense of belonging. This diversity is what makes India unique, but it is equally important that we respect these differences and live together peacefully.

Communal harmony means maintaining peace and understanding among people belonging to different communities. It teaches us to respect each other's beliefs and traditions, and to treat everyone with equality and kindness.

This day reminds us that unity does not mean that everyone has to be the same. We can have different cultures, opinions and ways of life while still respecting one another.

As students, we can contribute to this simply through our everyday actions — by respecting our classmates, appreciating different cultures, avoiding stereotypes, and treating everyone equally. Even small acts of understanding and kindness can help create a more welcoming environment around us.

Today is therefore not just about remembering an important day in our history. It is also about reminding ourselves of the kind of society we want to build — one where people can live together with respect, peace and understanding.

So, let us celebrate our diversity, respect our differences and always choose harmony over division.

Conclusion
The assembly was conducted in compliance with the format shared and on the topics allotted to the House for the assembly. The audience consisted of class VI students.It is hoped that they listened carefully and understood the significance of maintaining harmony (sadbavana) and National Poet’s day reiterated by the positive affirmations.

I respect and value everyone, no matter how different we are.

My words and actions bring people together in peace.

I choose kindness to build a happy and united community.

We are stronger together when we celebrate our differences.
