events : Experiential Learning Expedition to Chakrata class XI - 17–21 May 2026
Ahlcon Public School, in collaboration with Climb Up, organised an enriching experiential holiday trip to Sawai Danda, Chakrata for the students of Class XI from 17 to 21 May 2026. The expedition was accompanied by Mr. Vijay Kumar, Ms. Jyotsna Tyagi, Ms. Shuchi Malhotra, and Ms. Deepti Sharma, who guided and supported the students throughout the journey.
The primary objective of the trip was to foster a deeper connection with nature while nurturing essential life skills such as discipline, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and self-reliance. Away from the distractions of technology and immersed in the tranquillity of the mountains, students experienced a refreshing balance of adventure, learning, and personal growth.
Each day began with an invigorating warm-up session at 6:30 a.m., setting a positive tone for the day ahead. Supported by a wholesome and nutritious diet and a structured routine, students remained energetic, focused, and actively engaged in all activities.
The journey commenced on 17 May, when the students departed from the school for Chakrata amidst great excitement and anticipation. Upon arrival, they enthusiastically participated in a range of engaging activities, including Samba Music, where they creatively made music using discarded materials, the popular Maggi Trek, during which students prepared their own meal amidst nature, and an enjoyable campfire evening with live music, fostering camaraderie and joyful interaction.
The second day was filled with adventure and exploration. Students visited the breathtaking Tiger Waterfall and the scenic Chirmiri Neck Point, marvelling at the natural beauty of the region. They also participated in a combustion projectile activity, which combined scientific principles with hands-on learning, followed by an energetic DJ evening and bonfire, creating memories of fun and togetherness.
On the third day, students began with a reflective session expressing gratitude towards the organisers, instructors, and teachers who made the experience possible. They then embarked on a picturesque drive to Mussoorie, enjoying panoramic mountain vistas along the way. The visit to the vibrant Mall Road provided an opportunity to explore the local culture, interact with peers, and unwind in one of the most popular hill stations of the region.
The expedition concluded on 21 May 2026, when the students returned home carrying with them invaluable experiences, stronger friendships, newfound confidence, and a deeper appreciation for nature. The trip proved to be a perfect blend of adventure, experiential learning, and personal development, leaving every participant with memories that will be cherished for years to come.
The Chakrata expedition was truly a transformative journey that reinforced the spirit of exploration, responsibility, and lifelong learning among the students of Ahlcon Public School.
