Introduction
Shravan House and Cultural club organised a Special Independence Day Assembly on 14 August 2026 to commemorate India’s Independence Day and celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, patriotism and national pride. The assembly featured enthusiastic participation from students of the Preparatory, Middle and Secondary Sections. Through prayer, thought, news, marching, music, speech, role play and dance, the students presented a vibrant and meaningful celebration dedicated to the nation.
Key Highlights
Gayatri Mantra and Prayer
The assembly commenced with the Gayatri Mantra, creating an atmosphere of peace, positivity and reverence. This was followed by the school prayer, setting a calm and purposeful tone for the special assembly.
Thought for the Day
The Thought for the Day was presented by the students of Shravan House. The thought focused on patriotism, responsibility and the importance of contributing positively to the nation.
March Past – NCC Cadets
The NCC Cadets presented a disciplined and impressive March Past, symbolising courage, discipline, dedication and the spirit of service to the nation. Their synchronised movements added dignity and grandeur to the Independence Day celebration.
Bagpiper Band
The Bagpiper Band presented a stirring musical performance that enhanced the ceremonial atmosphere of the assembly. The performance added grandeur to the special occasion and filled the gathering with patriotic enthusiasm.
Speech on Independence Day
A special Speech on Independence Day highlighted the significance of India's freedom and the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The students were reminded that independence also comes with the responsibility of becoming disciplined, compassionate and responsible citizens.
Role Play – Birsa Munda
The Preparatory Section presented an engaging role play on Birsa Munda, the celebrated tribal freedom activist and folk hero belonging to the Munda tribe. Through this presentation, the young students brought alive his courage, leadership and contribution to the freedom movement. The role play also highlighted the important contribution of tribal communities to India's struggle against colonial rule.
Patriotic Group Song
Students from the Middle and Secondary Sections presented a soulful Patriotic Group Song. Their melodious performance expressed love for the nation and created a strong feeling of unity and national pride among the audience.
Patriotic Group Dance
The Preparatory Section presented a vibrant Patriotic Group Dance. The young performers showcased their enthusiasm and love for the country through music and coordinated movements, adding energy and colour to the celebration.
Principal's Address
The Principal addressed the gathering and appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and teachers of Shravan House and the Cultural Club. He emphasised that freedom comes with responsibility and appreciated the participants for their commendable performances. He further highlighted that India, being one of the youngest nations in terms of population demographics, has immense potential to become a global superpower.
The address highlighted the significance of Independence Day and encouraged students to value the freedom they enjoy while understanding their responsibilities towards the nation. The students were also encouraged to uphold the values of unity, discipline, respect, and integrity in their everyday lives.
